Jayvion’s Story of Growth and Possibility at Cheshire Fitness Zone
When Jayvion and his family first came to Cheshire Fitness Zone, they were looking for support that felt patient, thoughtful, and truly centered on their child. They wanted a place where care felt intentional and where progress, in all its forms, was truly seen.
What they found was a space where growth is measured with care and where every step forward, no matter how small, is recognized and valued.

“Our experience at Cheshire Fitness Zone has been nothing short of life-changing.”

Jayvion receives physical therapy with Ms. Kaitlyn Kelly, occupational therapy with Ms. Lori Brown, and speech therapy with Ms. Annie Gunn and has previously seen Ms. Alicia Rahim for speech and feeding therapy. Together, his therapy team works closely to support movement, communication, and participation in everyday routines, always with the goal of helping Javion feel confident, capable, and included.
When Jayvion first started therapy, his family hoped for small steps toward greater independence. Everyday things mattered most. Picking up objects on his own. Finding new ways to express himself. Building confidence through movement and participation. At the time, these goals felt simple, but deeply meaningful.
Over time, those hopes began to take shape.

“The improvements have been remarkable.”

Through physical therapy, Javion has been introduced to gait trainers and mobility supports that allow him to build strength and experience movement in ways that feel empowering. Occupational therapy has helped him sit comfortably, participate at the table, and engage more fully in daily routines. Speech therapy has opened new doors for communication, including the use of a communication device and sign language, giving him tools to share his needs and ideas.

“These small but impactful changes have made a huge difference in his routines and his confidence.”

At home, Jayvion is more comfortable sitting, interacting, and being present during family time. The skills he practices during sessions naturally carry over into everyday moments, creating more opportunities for connection and shared experiences.
In the community, Javion has grown more comfortable in new environments. He actively attends church, participates during services, and enjoys traveling with his family, including cruises and airplane rides. Therapy has helped him manage longer periods of sitting, movement, and sensory changes, allowing him to experience these moments with greater comfort and excitement.

“Watching him communicate ‘all done’ for
the first time was absolutely incredible.”

Some of the most meaningful moments in Javion’s journey came unexpectedly. One of his family’s favorite memories was realizing he was learning sign language during therapy. It was a moment that stopped everything and shifted what felt possible.
“His progress is not only measured by walking, but by participation, joy, and quality of life.”
Another unforgettable experience was seeing Javion take steps on a treadmill during physical therapy. It was something his family had never seen before and a moment they will always remember.

“Seeing him move his body in that way, with confidence and encouragement, was powerful and deeply emotional.”
These moments weren’t just milestones. They were reminders that progress is happening, growth is unfolding, and new possibilities continue to emerge.
What stands out most to Javion’s family is the environment at Cheshire Fitness Zone. CFZ is welcoming, encouraging, and motivating. Effort is celebrated. Challenges are met with creativity and reassurance. Every child is supported in ways that feel respectful and empowering.

“There is a strong sense that everyone here truly wants to see success, growth, and quality of life improve.”
